Iran famed actress Gohar Kheirandish sits for an exclusive interview with ifilm, talking about her artistic career.
Kheirandish is a versatile actress portraying various roles in Iranian cinema. She played the role of a mother-in-law at the age of 20 which definitely shows her virtuosity in acting.
The actress was injured on the set of an Iranian series and hospitalized a few months back. ifilm found the opportunity to interview the ever popular veteran actress following the incident.
Below are some highlights of the interview conducted by ifilm in Persian.
Kheiranish: A good actor should see things well. It means that whatever happens in your life should be viewed through a better lens. I adopt my moves for every character I’m playing from people in society. I choose every detail on my own and have my own say even in the costume design section. Sometimes I bring my own apparel from home for a particular role.
I live the roles I want to act on screen and once one role is done, I close the mental file for that and begin thinking about a new one.
I got injured on the set of many series and films. ‘Azar, Shahdokht, Parviz and Others’ is a case in point where I broke my head and bones. My lung was affected as well and my shoulder was broken down into pieces.
During my acting career, I’ve seen a lot of these, though there was one time I had a very difficult experience. I was on the set of a film where I learnt about my daughter’s illness and had to get back home in heavy snow. On the way home, we lost our way and it seemed like a miracle a group of construction workers came to help us out. Later on, they told me a few days back some people were killed by bears on the road we got stuck.
